Brainiac Media was contracted by Local Nursing Recruitment to provide bespoke ColdFusion development services to an existing ColdFusion applicant tracking system and recruitment job board. The existing Job Board searchability and filtering options were not working properly and this was creating a bad user experience and problem for the company’s reputation and business. Local Nursing Recruitment is a nursing, social and healthcare recruitment agency. Local Nursing Recruitment has a combined 15 years of experience servicing businesses across the United Kingdom. All of their recruitment agency services are tailored to an individual’s needs.
Brainiac Media was contracted to fix the sites existing framework and inefficiencies that were causing the business problems.
What we did
Brainiac Media’s ColdFusion development team worked on the company’s existing framework and fixed a number of website and admin suite issues as well as improving the user search experience and securing all bad queries.
First, we began by fixing the website issues that were having the biggest negative impact and preventing candidates from using the job board search facility. Previously, when candidates would apply for a job posting through the website Local Nursing Recruitment would receive an email on their enquiry email with the application. We made it so that Local Nursing Recruitment was able to see the vacancy number the candidates were enquiring against as well as the job title; by fixing this issue it meant that the staff were able to sort through applications in a much more efficient way.
Secondly, we tackled a spam email problem they were having. They kept receiving spam emails through to their enquiries email listed on their website contact form. We managed to stop this from occurring by adding a captcha mechanism to reduce the level of spam. This was successful in keeping high levels of spam at bay, meaning that actual candidates could be connected to possible job postings in a much quicker fashion.
After tackling the website issues we moved on to fix the admin suite issues, this was where the majority of the work was concentrated. We refined the search abilities for the candidates’ page allowing candidates to be refined in a way that was much more thorough. We developed the vacancy page so that vacancies would be more easily found and differentiated by region and postcode.
We developed the website so that you could search jobs by postcode, this works as another shortcut for users to be able to find what they are looking for with more ease. We enabled the hourly rate of each vacancy to be shown as well as providing a list of client records and vacancy records. We developed the website so that sending emails from the website was made more efficient, and also built a programme allowing emails to go out at specific times and days. We also upgraded the look and feel on the candidates search page and secured all the bad queries.
All of this work was mainly fixing issues within their existing ColdFusion website to make it more user friendly and more effective in its means. Fixing these issues and developing their website so that they were more successful in recruiting candidates and connecting them to potential employers. The work we did allowed them to carry on doing their job on the same platform they were used to but in a way that was much less taxing and a lot quicker and more effective.
